It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pastor William A. Kirlew. He peacefully went to sleep in the Lord on November 4, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. He was 103 years old.
Pastor Kirlew began his ministry in 1952 in Jamaica, and he became the first Black pastor in Florida Conference in the early 1970s. Pastor Kirlew planted 17 churches in South Florida and faithfully served the Lord until he peacefully went to rest, awaiting the return of Jesus.
We will not fully understand the impact of his more than 70 years of ministry until we see the countless lives transformed by his faithfulness when we get to heaven. Although this is a time of sorrow, we share the same hope that Pastor Kirlew held—the hope and assurance that he is only sleeping, waiting to hear the trumpet call on that glorious day. When Jesus returns, we will be reunited with our dear brother, never to part again, for all eternity.
A celebration of life and legacy will be held on Saturday, December 14, at Maranatha Seventh-day Adventist Church at 4:00 PM.

The family kindly requests that attendees wear bright, vibrant colors such as pink, purple, orange, and red, which were among Pastor Kirlew's favorites. Let us celebrate his life with joy and color.
Let's remember to keep the Kirlew family in our prayers.
